Therapy for Veterans in Georgetown TX
You Do Not Have to Carry the Weight of Service Alone
You may feel constantly on guard, disconnected from the people you love, or uncertain about who you are outside of your role or uniform. Stress, difficult memories, irritability, sleep problems, relationship strain, and a loss of purpose can make everyday life feel harder than it should. These are common challenges veterans face when leaving the military, and first responders may experience similar pressures after years of serving others.
As a retired Army veteran, I understand that it can be difficult to ask for help or explain experiences that others may not fully understand. You do not have to start from scratch. Therapy can offer compassionate military life support and a place to explore what you are carrying at your own pace.
Therapy
Therapy is for veterans, first responders, and family members who are carrying more than they want to carry alone. You may be navigating the transition from military service, the effects of trauma or chronic stress, relationship conflict, changes in identity or purpose, or simply feeling disconnected from the people and parts of life that matter most.
My systemic approach to therapy considers the full context of your life—including your relationships, family, work, community, and service experiences. Together, we will identify what is getting in the way, build on your existing strengths, and develop practical steps toward greater connection, clarity, and well-being. Therapy is collaborative, respectful, and tailored to your goals.
A Collaborative Approach to Healing and Reconnection
My work is grounded in systemic therapy and informed by Bowen family systems theory and attachment theory. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I consider how relationships, family dynamics, work, and service experiences shape your well-being.
I use trauma-informed approaches to support concerns such as PTSD, stress, anger, relationship difficulties, reintegration, and addiction. Therapy may include trauma-focused support for veterans and practical anger-management strategies, always tailored to your needs, goals, and lived experience.
Individual therapy offers a private space to explore your experiences and create meaningful change.
Couples therapy can help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and navigate the effects of service-related stress together.
Group therapy may be offered in the future as an additional space for shared support and connection.
What We’ll Do
We will begin by talking about what feels most difficult right now and what you would like to be different. You set the pace, and together we will identify the patterns, stressors, and relationship dynamics that may be affecting your well-being. You do not need to have the right words or a complete plan before you begin.
As we work together, we will create practical tools for coping with stress, communicating more openly, and reconnecting with the people and values that matter to you. Whether you are navigating the challenges veterans face when leaving the military or the ongoing demands of first-responder work, therapy can offer support as you move forward.
